✔ rzetelne
✔ sprawdzone
✔ praktyczne
✔ oparte na realnym życiu w Chorwacji
✔ przygotowane specjalnie dla polskich turystów

Parking in Zadar – Zones Explained
1. Zone 0 – Old Town / Poluotok – closest to the old town, but the most expensive
This is the most expensive zone in the city:
- €1.60/h in season (15 June–31 August)
- €0.80/h off-season (1 September–14 June)
Time limit: max 1 hour. This is intentional to keep spaces available mainly for residents and quick errands.
Fees apply 24/7, all year round, including Sundays and public holidays.
Best for: quick stops, drop-offs, short errands.
Not suitable for: longer sightseeing.
During the summer, finding a free space is almost impossible due to heavy traffic and limited capacity. Entering and exiting can also be difficult, especially in the afternoon, because of high pedestrian traffic.
Recommended for:
• people who need just a few minutes
• hotel guests with special permits (not for regular parking)
• drivers dropping off passengers directly on Poluotok
Not recommended for:
• full-day sightseeing
• families
• tourists going on boat trips (e.g., Kornati)
• anyone who doesn’t want to return to the car every hour
2. Zone 1 – around the Riva and city walls – close, but with a time limit
One of the more expensive and popular zones:
- €1.60/h in season (15 June–31 August)
- €0.80/h off-season (1 September–14 June)
Time limit: max 3 hours.
Fees:
- Season: 8:00–22:00 (7 days a week)
- Spring/autumn: 8:00–22:00 (except Sundays)
- Winter: 8:00–16:00, Saturdays until 14:00
Perfect if you want to stay close to Poluotok but don’t need the whole day.
Recommended for:
• short sightseeing (1–3 hours)
• those who want quick access to the old town
• people valuing convenience and proximity
Not recommended for:
• full-day stays
• boat trips or excursions
• families needing a reliable all-day spot
3. Zone 2 – great balance between price and distance
A very reasonable zone:
- €1.30/h in season
- €0.50/h off-season
No time limit — you can park all day.
Fees:
- Season: 8:00–22:00 (7 days)
- Spring/autumn: 8:00–22:00 (except Sundays)
- Winter: 8:00–16:00, Saturdays until 14:00
Only an 8–12 minute walk to the old town. Usually easier to find a free space than in Zone 1.
Recommended for:
• full-day tourists
• families
• stress-free parking
• longer stays
Not recommended for:
• people with mobility limitations who need the closest access
4. Zone 3 – cheap and convenient for most tourists
Affordable and with good availability:
- €0.40/h all year round
No time limit.
Fees: 8:00–22:00 all year.
A 12–18 minute walk to Poluotok. Great for avoiding crowds and high prices.
Recommended for:
• families
• multi-hour sightseeing
• relaxed old town visits
• anyone seeking an economical daytime option
Not recommended for:
• very hot days when you want to minimize walking
5. Zone 4 – best for the whole day (cheapest)
The cheapest zone in Zadar:
- €0.30/h all year
No time limit.
Fees: 8:00–22:00 (all year)
Ideal for full-day visits, boat trips, or excursions to Kornati, Krka, Plitvice, etc.
Usually plenty of free spaces, low prices, and a 15–20 minute walk to the old town.
Recommended for:
• full-day parking
• boat trips (Kornati, Silba, Ugljan, Telascica, etc.)
• families
• anyone looking for a cheap and safe long-term option
Not recommended for:
• those needing extremely quick access to Poluotok
FREE Parking near the Old Town
There is a free parking area close to the old town, but due to the nearby hospital, locals often use it. Finding a spot on weekdays can be difficult — still worth checking!
How to Pay for Parking in Zadar
You can pay in several ways:
• at parking meters
• via the BMOVE app
• via SMS (each zone has its own number)
Fees are calculated automatically based on the zone. In summer, parking fees also apply on Sundays and public holidays.
Parking Garages in Zadar
Two large underground garages are available:
Garage Center / 112. brigade garage
• ~10 minutes on foot from Poluotok
• open 24/7
• 600+ spaces
Great choice in summer when street parking is full.
City Galleria Garage
• multi-level parking
• next to the shopping center and bus station
• first hour is free
Summary
Zadar’s parking system has five zones differing in price, time limits, and distance from the old town. Poluotok (Zone 0) is the most expensive and meant only for short visits, while Zone 4 is the best-value full-day option. Payments can be made via app, meter, or SMS, and parking garages are ideal when street parking is difficult.
